In 1995 Ron Huber requested a public hearing on the re-licensing of Defense Fuel Support Point Searsport. Huber asked that a sediments and soils pollution test be done before relicensing, to be sure any residual spills got cleaned up.
The DOD agreed to test intertidal sediment and upland drainage swale for petroleum. Here are the test results, as reported by GZA Geoenvironmental, hired by DOD to do the study.
