Kidder Point hosted a succession of industrial facilities throughout the 20th century. The waste siteds noted on the first image include acid-leached bauxite (aluminum) ore deposited during the 1960s and 1970s along the shoreline and now eroding into the intertidal flats, oily wastes from the beachfront outfall connected to used and disused pipelines beneath the site.
